Snow does not happen much in the south, so when it does just about everything shuts down. Usually because there is a thin sheet of ice underneath the snow and on top of the power lines....(which happened to stay out for nearly a week.) A week with out power drove my mother and husband crazy. I kinda liked it. I had books to read after dark by candle light and the life saving car charger for my nook.
During the day, it was easy. Play with the kid, come warm up, then play with the kid again. I think we made seven snowmen in the end. Along with a race track, numerous snowball fights and my favorite long naps. The kid loved it despite the long naps.
Everything was covered with the fluffy white stuff. It was so relaxing and beautiful, until the husband had enough of the family bonding by candle light. I have realized that life with out his PS3 is a dangerous way to live. The first symptoms of his withdraw came in waves of crankiness. The next symptom was stomping like a mad little girl. Then the delusions hit. He came up with ideas to buy everything or to remake everything. He had a list that began with small things like a new remote control vehicle for him and the kid (that had just received no less than 5 new helicopters for Christmas), and worked his way up to remodeling his truck. He came up with this idea to add huge tires, lift it up off the ground as high as my boobs (yes he said that), then take out all of the carpet so he could add something that cleaned up easy like the stuff some truck owners use to keep the bed of their truck from getting scratched.
Finally, when I thought the end was near for him, the lights came back on!! After a 24 hour PS3 marathon he snapped out of it. Yeah, no plastic stuff on the floor of the truck, no boob bruises from trying to climb into it! And my favorite, no more remote control helicopter fights inside the house where they teamed to buzz my head because the world would end if one of the 5 got wet and could not be used to attack me again.
Everything is back to normal and I have learned that his little PS3
obsession keeps both of us sane and money in the bank account.
