A break from sex.....

Okay, so after the wonderful holidays, I have decided to take a break from sex. Well at least from reading romance novels. I started The Mill River Recluse on my new Nook HD shortly after Christmas. I had no expectations going into this new adventure of sexless novels. (I should change that to graphic sexless novels.)

So I was excited to start reading on my new device. I kind of like the flow of this book going from past to present. I also like staying up with my new nook glowing in my hands, with no dramatic lights to keep the kid that late at night.

This was a fast read. Giving insight into the world of the 1940s as well as a lady with severe anxiety issues. It was a story of good versus evil, or a philosophy of every action has consequences. The good were rewarded, and the bad were punished, dead or severely injured. I expected a little more of a shock at the end sense the story was so dramatic in the beginning.

Looking back, the words I read are similar to the story of Robin Hood without all the stealing of money. The money was rightfully given to a lady that had endured the torture of an abusive husband. The only thing that bothered me while reading this was the priest and his addiction to spoons. I guess it is to show that no one is perfect, that everyone has flaws or quirks that make them unique.

It was a good break from the B D S M to remind me that people can be kind and flawed at the same time with out having graphic sex. Now, I think I will start Gone Girl.
